Feeding South Florida, a not for profit organization and a member agency of Feeding America Network, empowers other South Florida not-for-profit organizations to feed needy people and improve their lives. They do this by providing food and other grocery products and by educating and engaging our community to fight hunger and poverty. They are the South Florida affiliate of Feeding America, a member of the Florida Association of Food Banks and the largest food bank in the State of Florida. Today Daily Bread Food Bank is changing its name to Feeding South Florida. This is in addition to already being a member agency with Feeding America.
By being a Feeding America member they are able to join forces with nationwide networks of food banks.
With this name change they will continue to grow and serve the hungry in South Florida. They are also proud to announce the opening of their new and larger facility in Pembroke Park in Broward County.
After the tragic loss of their Broward warehouse due to a fire last week, they are able to bounce back larger and stronger than ever. They have gotten such a large response in their time of need from the media and the local community that they had to open the new facility sooner than anticipated. And what a beautiful facility it is! It has conference rooms, training rooms, a warehouse that holds 3 times the amount of the other one, a food stamp department to help people apply for stamps at FSF and a Teachers Store that has supplies they will need to handle any project!
