Since 2002, Helping Hands has been dedicated to providing essential services to over 5,000 individuals in need, including children, youth, adults, seniors, families, and disabled Veterans at-risk. Our organization strives to fulfill their basic needs, such as food, shelter, social services, and transportation.
We are particularly passionate about assisting returning Veterans as they reintegrate into their communities. Through our resources, we aim to support them in navigating the challenges they may face and ensuring a smooth transition back into civilian life.
One of our key initiatives is the Hope House transitional housing program, which offers a safe haven for families, emaciated teens, disabled veterans, and individuals requiring emergency, short-term, and long-term housing. By providing this vital service, we help vulnerable individuals and families regain stability and work towards a brighter future.
Additionally, we actively collaborate with developers to increase the availability of affordable housing in our community. We believe that by tackling the issue of homelessness and promoting affordable housing options, we can create opportunities for individuals and families to thrive. We also strive to support home ownership initiatives in the 33311 area, further empowering our community members.
Lastly, our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond providing direct assistance. Through community outreach and neighborhood canvassing, we identify areas where the needs are greatest and offer our support. By working closely with local residents and organizations, we aim to address the unique challenges faced by our community and foster a sense of unity and support.
To continue our mission and expand our reach, we kindly ask for your support. By contributing to Helping Hands, you will play a vital role in enabling us to provide crucial services and create lasting change in the lives of those who are most vulnerable. Together, we can make a difference and build a stronger, more inclusive community.

Previously, Helping Hands offered weekly dinners, special event meals, and holiday feasts, catering to 30 to 500 individuals at each location. Despite our extensive programming in the at-risk regions of Ft Lauderdale, it has become evident that there remains a substantial population experiencing hunger or lacking access to well-rounded, nourishing meals. In August 2015, we successfully organized a joint initiative with our partners, providing meals to over 100 low-income families. This accomplishment was made possible through our collaborative efforts with local food banks and other organizations.
